Wind Warning, A Happy Puppy & Dinner at Aunt’s
This morning started with a yellow wind warning. One of those alerts that makes you expect trees bending and the house shaking a little.
But when I woke up, it was completely still outside.
Instead, two small black eyes were looking straight at me.
Then I remembered.
My daughter left the house at five this morning. She was heading north to visit my parents and she took the dog with her.
But the puppy.
My other daughter’s puppy.
He stayed with me.
The tail was wagging like a little helicopter and honestly, there are worse ways to wake up. Imagine being greeted with that much happiness just because you opened your eyes.
Of course, reality arrived quickly.
Puppy.
Just woke up.
Needs to go out.
So out we went.
And that was how the day started.
A Day That Moved Quickly
After that the day moved fast.
A few emails.
Some messages.
Then picking up my little niece from kindergarten.
Not long after, my nephew called.
“Can you pick me up too?”
And somehow, that’s how things usually work. One small plan turns into three.
But before all of that, I actually had to go to the doctor for a follow up appointment.
And there was a line.
A very long line.
Early in the morning and already a crazy queue. I didn’t really think much more about it at the time, but it was definitely one of those moments where you realize you’re not the only one starting the day early.
The Wind Finally Arrived
On my way home I stopped by the store.
And when I walked back out…
The wind finally showed up.
One strong gust that almost grabbed hold of me on the way to the car.
So yes, the warning was not completely wrong after all.
Autumn Atmosphere at Home
Back home the mood shifted.
Suddenly the house felt calm and warm. Real autumn atmosphere.
Dinner was on the table. A proper cozy dinner with two small nieces visiting.
Candles were lit.
Food on the table.
Dessert, of course.
Dinner and dessert at aunt’s house is never a bad idea.
After that we watched a movie together, the kind of simple evening that somehow becomes the nicest part of the day.
Wine and Conversations
Not long after the kids were picked up, the house became quiet again.
But not long, my neighbour came down.
And now it’s wine.
The conversations tonight have been about many things, including the book I’m writing.
Life in general, really.
And the conclusion is actually quite simple.
You only live once.
Fun Fact
Some days start quietly.
But they still manage to become full of life.
Today’s Motto
“You only get one life. Make sure you actually live it.”
