This Tuesday morning began quietly, with coffee in bed beside my love before another working day started.
I appreciate those calm moments more and more. A few minutes to breathe, talk and simply be present before the telephone rings, the calendar opens and the pace changes.
As Director at Valhalla Capital, there is always plenty to take hold of, and I genuinely love my job. We are building something from the ground up, and that makes every day both demanding and exciting.
A Workplace You Look Forward to
One of the things I value most is our team.
There is always a smile waiting when I arrive, often a hug and a kind word before the day begins properly. It may sound like a small thing, but it creates something important.
A good working environment is not built through words on a wall. It is built through how we treat one another.
We must remember to see the people we work with.
To notice when someone is quiet.
To ask how they are doing.
To say thank you.
To give recognition.
To make room for both questions and mistakes.
People do their best work when they feel safe, respected and included. A strong culture gives energy. A poor culture slowly takes it away.
Building Valhalla Capital
At Valhalla Capital Fund Management, we are still in an important building phase.
A new company requires much more than a name, an office and a website. Systems must be created, responsibilities clarified, routines tested and standards established.
Much of this work is invisible from the outside.
There are meetings, documents, decisions, corrections and countless details that must be handled before anything feels established. But this groundwork is essential.
What we build now will shape the company later.
The routines we accept today may become the standard for years.
The way we communicate now will influence the culture others enter.
The care we put into the foundation will determine how much growth the company can carry.
For me, Valhalla is not only about building a business. It is about building something professional, trustworthy and lasting, together with people who want to contribute.

Growth Begins Before Anyone Notices
The presentation I read today about Vår Energi and BlueNord was a good reminder of this.
The planned combination is presented as a step toward creating the largest independent oil and gas producer in Europe, with greater scale, stronger cash generation and a long-term production target of around 450,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
From the outside, a major transaction can look sudden.
An announcement is published.
The market reacts.
The numbers appear.
But the real work has usually been taking place for a long time.
People have analysed, negotiated, calculated, questioned and prepared. The visible result rests on an enormous amount of invisible work.
That is true for large companies, and it is true for small and newly established ones.
Nothing strong is built overnight.
The Importance of the Foundation
When we start something new, it can be tempting to focus only on what people can see.
The branding.
The office.
The presentation.
The finished result.
But the strongest part of any company is often hidden beneath the surface.
Clear agreements.
Good routines.
Reliable systems.
Honest communication.
A healthy culture.
These things may not create headlines, but they create stability.
A company can grow quickly without a strong foundation, but it may not remain strong for long.
That is why the early work matters so much.
Leadership Is Also About People
A title gives responsibility, but trust must be earned.
As a leader, I believe we have a responsibility for the energy we bring into the room.
People notice whether we listen!
Whether we keep our word.
Whether we show respect.
Whether we recognise their effort.
Leadership is not only about making decisions. It is also about creating an environment in which others can succeed.
That does not mean avoiding difficult conversations. A good working environment is not one where everyone agrees all the time.
It is one where people can disagree respectfully, speak honestly and still feel safe.
Warmth and high standards can exist together.
In fact, the strongest teams need both.
A Tuesday With Purpose
So today, I feel grateful.
For the quiet coffee in bed.
For the person beside me.
For a job I love.
For a team that makes me happy to come to work.
And for the opportunity to build something from the beginning.
There is still much to do, and that is exactly how it should be.
We are laying the foundation now.
One conversation.
One routine.
One decision.
One working day at a time.
A Quote to Remember
As Richard Branson once said:
“Take care of your employees, and they’ll take care of your business.”
Fun Fact
The word culture is connected to cultivation; preparing, caring for and helping something grow.
That is perhaps the best description of a healthy workplace.
Culture must be tended.
Every day.
A Personal Motto From Nordè
Build carefully, lead with warmth, see the people around you and remember that the strongest results are often created long before anyone else can see them.
