A Cultural Gem in the North
I had the immense honor of attending the official opening of Gallery Wabi Sabi in Tromsø. A magnificent event that will remain etched in my memory.
As a proud owner of several of their exquisite jewelry pieces, it felt deeply meaningful to stand among the brilliant minds behind this timeless collection. The Wabi Sabi team has a rare eye for beauty. For authenticity. For the quiet elegance found in imperfection.
With this gallery, they have gifted Tromsø something truly special. A cultural gem that will shine for years to come.
A City That Surprises
Tromsø surprised me in every way.
Nestled between majestic mountains and sparkling fjords, the city carries both strength and softness. It is a vibrant cultural hub and, to my delight, a culinary treasure I had not fully expected.
Each dining experience felt like its own journey. Thoughtful. Refined. Memorable. I left already wanting to return and explore more of the city’s remarkable gastronomy.
Tromsø has grown on me. It is a place where urban sophistication meets nature’s grandeur in the most enchanting way.
Evenings Above the Fjords
During my stay, I had the pleasure of staying at the new Dock Hotel, a stunning addition to Tromsø’s hospitality scene.
We were welcomed with warmth and genuine care. Dinner was served on the rooftop in elegant glass igloos, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the city and fjords.
It was magical. A place where gastronomy meets nature in perfect harmony. Where light, landscape, and atmosphere blend into something unforgettable.
Art, Friendship, and Shared Moments
I was especially grateful to share this journey with my dear artist friend Steinar Caspari and his family. Experiencing Tromsø together, surrounded by art and culture, made the weekend even richer.
There is something powerful about discovering new places alongside people who see the world through creative eyes. It deepens everything.
Where History Meets Modernity
Tromsø is more than the vibrant heart of Northern Norway. It is where history meets modernity. Where nature and culture exist in balance.
From the Polar Museum to the Arctic Cathedral. From innovative restaurants to charming streets full of character. Every corner feels layered with story.
To conclude this magnificent weekend, being part of Gallery Wabi Sabi, experiencing Tromsø at its finest, and sharing it with friends brought to mind the words of Pablo Picasso:
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
Thank you, Tromsø, for taking such wonderful care of me. I will return. And next time, I will explore even more.
Buble hugs from Nordè
