A Meaningful Friday, Finding Value in the Small Things

Movement, Not Superstition

A date that, according to old superstition, is said to carry shadows. Yet today has carried light.

The origins of this day trace back to Norse mythology and Christian tradition. In Norse legend, Loki arrived as the thirteenth guest at a feast in Valhalla, bringing disruption. In Christian history, thirteen at the Last Supper and the crucifixion on a Friday shaped the symbolism further. Over time, stories became belief, and belief became caution.

But I have never been one to live by inherited fear.

Today has been defined not by superstition, but by movement.

Important meetings.
Several countries involved.
Strong collaboration across borders.
Strategic conversations with partners who understand both scale and responsibility.

Network building is not simply expansion. It is alignment. It is choosing to build with people who value integrity, clarity, and long term architecture over short term noise. That is something I hold high.

Order at Home

And in between it all, life continued.

The house is clean.
Fresh sheets on the beds.
Dust wiped away.
Everything prepared for the weekend.

There is something deeply grounding about restoring order at home. It mirrors the internal reset after intense weeks of responsibility and decisions.

In the middle of calls and documents, I also set a large yeast dough.

Forty buns.
One generous cinnamon braid.

There is something quietly powerful about baking while global conversations unfold. Strategy on one side. Warm dough rising on the other. Both require patience. Timing. Trust in the process.

In the background, the Olympics are on. Discipline. Ambition. Precision. It feels symbolic.

Choosing Your Own Warmth

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.

So I will buy my own flowers. To bring warmth into my own home. To mark the season with beauty.

It made me think of an picture I once archived. The title reads,
“I can buy myself flowers.”

There is something quietly powerful in that sentence.

It is not defiance.
It is independence.
It is emotional maturity.

It is the understanding that love begins with how we care for ourselves and the spaces we create. That waiting is not a strategy. That giving yourself warmth is not weakness, but strength.

A New Beginning

Friday the 13th has been good.

Is there really anything in this date? Perhaps only what we choose to give it.

For me, this day has been proof that momentum does not depend on superstition. It depends on preparation.

After several long and demanding weeks, I feel something shift. Almost as if 2026 begins here. Not because the calendar says so, but because the foundation is laid.

The projects are in motion.
The conversations are happening.
The direction is clear.

And for now, there is nothing more to push. Only to step back. To be present. To spend time with my children and friends. To breathe.

Sometimes leadership means building. Sometimes it means trusting what you have already built.

This weekend will be about restoration. And quiet confidence.

“Love deeply. Build steadily. And never wait for permission to bring flowers into your own life.”

Buble hugs from Nordê
