Queens: Happy International Womens Day – Own this day! It`s yours!

A Sunday reflection from Nordê during a small pause between moving boxes.

This morning I took a small pause from packing boxes at home.
Not many boxes yet, but enough to remind me that life is once again moving forward. A new chapter quietly beginning.
So I sat down for a moment with my notebook, still surrounded by a few half-packed things, and allowed myself a little Sunday reflection.

Life has been busy lately. Very busy.
But the kind of busy I am truly grateful for.

There is a lot happening these days, projects moving forward, ideas growing, collaborations forming. And in moments like this I feel an immense appreciation for the people I get to work with.

I am incredibly thankful for all the partners, colleagues and collaborators who are part of this journey. Some of the ideas may start with one person, but meaningful growth only happens when we build together.

Celebrating the power of women

Today we also celebrate International Women’s Day.
A day that reminds us to pause and recognize the extraordinary strength, resilience and creativity of women around the world.
Women who lead.
Women who build.
Women who create.
Women who hold families, communities and businesses together every single day.
Throughout history women have been pioneers, thinkers, caretakers and visionaries. Their courage and determination have shaped societies, industries and futures.
Today is a moment to recognize that.

Remembering the women who still fight for basic freedoms

At the same time, today should also remind us that the journey toward equality is not finished.
While many of us are fortunate to live in societies where women can study, build careers and pursue their dreams, there are still countless girls and women around the world who do not yet have that freedom.
Girls who are not allowed to go to school.
Women who cannot choose their own education, their profession, or even the direction of their own lives.
True progress means remembering them too.

As Malala Yousafzai once said
“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”

Education and opportunity remain some of the most powerful tools we have to build a more equal future.
A tribute to everyday heroes
Not all heroes stand on global stages.
Many of them are much closer to us.

Mothers.
Daughters.
Sisters.
Friends.
Colleagues.
Partners.

Women who quietly carry responsibilities, show strength in difficult moments, and inspire others simply by the way they live their lives.
Their impact may not always be visible to the world, but it is deeply felt by the people around them.
A small message to the men
And today I would also like to say something to the men.
Send flowers to the woman in your life.

Your partner.
Your wife.
Your mother.
Your sister.

Or simply a woman you respect.
And please do not save it only for today.

Personally, I believe every woman deserves to walk into the weekend with fresh flowers on the table. It brings a quiet elegance to a home and gently shifts the atmosphere. And yes, I often buy them myself. When we live alone, we can honor ourselves as well, and there is something empowering in that. Sometimes the smallest rituals are the ones that remind us to slow down and enjoy a few well-deserved days of rest. Or can we? Rest I mean..

Besides, we all know the saying.
Happy wife, happy life.

And honestly, a bouquet of flowers is a very good investment.

And between us… flowers sometimes appear at exactly the right moment. Particularly on days when someone may have invested in something a little expensive for herself. Suddenly the words “But I also bought flowers” seem to follow naturally. I have heard it from others many times… and yes, sometimes from myself too.

Let us call that today’s little humor.

The future is built together

International Women’s Day reminds us that a future built on equality, respect and opportunity benefits everyone.
When women thrive, communities thrive.
When women rise, societies become stronger, wiser and more compassionate.

The future is not built by one group alone.
It is built together.

Today’s motto
It is not about being perfect.
It is about the courage to keep going, no matter how many times life asks you to rise again.

Today we celebrate women everywhere.
Happy International Women’s Day.
