A Day That Refused to Slow Down

Today became one of those days. The kind where meetings stack up back-to-back, leaving barely enough space to breathe in between. One conversation flows straight into the next, and before you know it, hours have passed without a pause.

There’s something about meetings… they stretch, they evolve, they drift just slightly beyond their allotted time. And suddenly, what was planned as a structured day turns into a continuous stream of voices, decisions, and shifting focus.

From Australia to LA, -A World in One Day

What struck me today was not just the number of meetings, but the span of them.

From Australia… to Los Angeles… to Dubai.. Than back to Norway! And I forgot I was a moment with Uk too.

Five time zones in one day. Imagine that. Different parts of the world waking up, winding down, or somewhere in between, all meeting in the same digital space.

At some point, it all started to blur. My mind trying to keep track of time, while my body quietly gave up on understanding it. Morning, afternoon, evening, it all melted into one.

Lost in Time (and Thoughts)

Somewhere between calls, I started thinking…

How many time zones have I actually been in?
How many countries? Cities? Moments?

I tried to count them. I really did.

But the thoughts became softer, slower… and before I knew it, I had drifted off on the sofa.

The Sofa Trap

And there it is, that familiar trap.

Falling asleep in the evening, just for “a moment.”
Only to wake up later, disoriented, and realizing…

The night is now ruined.

Sleep won’t come back easily. The rhythm is broken.

Is it just me?
Or do you know that feeling too?

That strange in-between state where your body rested, but not enough, and your mind is now wide awake at exactly the wrong time.

Counting Tomorrow

So here I am. Awake, reflecting.

Thinking maybe tomorrow I’ll continue counting.
Maybe I’ll even list the places, one by one.

Or maybe I won’t.

Because midweek is already here, and time feels like it’s racing ahead… faster than I can keep up with. Too few hours in a day. Too few days in a week.

A Thought to Hold Onto

“Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.”
William Penn

Maybe that’s the truth of it all.
