The Four Hour Morning

The middle of the week arrived with an early alarm and a very long appointment ahead of me. Before my morning Coffee.. I was already settled into the hairdresser’s chair, preparing for everything that lies ahead. Driven By Expertise. Guided By Focus as always in Salongen 1922

Now, let me share a little secret about pageant life.
My hair takes four hours

Four.

Hours.

At this point, I am convinced some people have managed a weekend getaway faster than it takes to prepare my hair. As I sat there this morning, watching the transformation slowly unfold, I found myself smiling. Most people see the photographs, the dresses, and the stage. Very few see the preparation that happens long before the spotlight turns on. Yet that is often where the real journey takes place. The quiet work behind the scenes. The details nobody notices. The commitment required to turn a dream into reality.

By the time the final curls were in place and the last photographs had been taken, I was already rushing off to my next appointment.

Why The Smallest Details Matter Most

My next stop was a pedicure, and while that may sound like a minor detail in the middle of everything else, it actually made me stop and think.

How often do we appreciate our feet?
Probably not very often.

Yet they carry us through every season of life. Through challenges and celebrations. Through ordinary days and extraordinary moments. They carry us toward our goals, often without us giving them a second thought.

As I sat there, I realized how much of life is like that. We spend so much time focusing on the big moments that we sometimes forget to appreciate the things quietly supporting us every single day.

So yes, my feet are officially Mrs. Globe ready.
And honestly, they deserve it.

When Two Suitcases Start Telling A Story

By the time I arrived home, reality was waiting for me in the form of two large suitcases standing open in the living room.

The closer departure day gets, the more real everything feels.
The dresses are arriving.
The schedules are filling up.
The preparations are becoming reality.

And suddenly, two large suitcases no longer seem particularly large.

As I started organizing everything that needs to come with me, I looked around and laughed. Dresses, shoes, accessories, gifts, paperwork, and countless little details were slowly taking over the room.

Fortunately, almost everything is now in place. Only one final delivery remains, arriving late the evening before I leave.
A few years ago that would probably have stressed me.
Today, it does not.
Life has taught me that worrying rarely improves the outcome.
Most things work out exactly as they are supposed to

The People Who Help Dreams Grow

As exciting as the dresses are, one of the biggest lessons this journey continues to teach me is that no dream is built alone.
Today, I found myself thinking about one person in particular.

Morten Arntsen, Sales Manager at Headbrands.

Morten is one of those people who leaves a positive impression wherever he goes. He is knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed.

What many people may not know is that he originally trained as both a men’s and women’s hairdresser. He even became Norwegian Champion in men’s hairstyling and successfully ran his own salon before a shoulder injury forced him to rethink his future.

Instead of giving up, he found a new path forward.

Today he is a highly respected sales manager, sharing his expertise with salons and professionals across the country.
Stories like his remind us that setbacks do not define us.
Our response to them does.

Through Headbrands and Morten, I was also introduced to one of the brands supporting my journey.

Why Norway Has So Much To Be Proud Of

The quality is outstanding, and they are another example of why we should be proud of Norwegian brands.

The more I travel and the more people I meet, the more I appreciate the innovation, quality, and entrepreneurship we have here in Norway.

Perhaps we spend too much time looking abroad for inspiration when there is already so much excellence right here at home.
That same feeling applies to the incredible support I continue to receive from businesses throughout Tønsberg.
The generosity has been overwhelming.

Every sponsor, every contribution, every encouraging conversation has reminded me that people still believe in supporting one another.

And that is a beautiful thing.

Why This Journey Is About More Than A Crown

As the evening became quieter and the practical preparations slowly gave way to reflection, my thoughts returned to something much bigger than dresses and competitions.

The reason I chose to embark on this journey in the first place.

Mental health.
Young people.
Women facing difficult circumstances.
These are causes that matter deeply to me.

Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of hearing countless personal stories. Stories of resilience, courage, struggle, and hope. What those conversations have taught me is that people rarely need someone to have all the answers.

They need someone who listens.
Someone who cares.
Someone who sees them.

The Thought I Am Taking To Bed Tonight

Now the dresses are hanging.
The suitcases are waiting.
Tomorrow’s plans are ready.

And sitting patiently by the door is my four legged friend,Buddy.
Yes, his name really is Buddy .. “Kompis”
Before this day ends, we are heading out for a quiet evening walk together.

Because after a day filled with preparation, excitement, gratitude, and reflection, it feels like the perfect way to end the evening.

A reminder that while dreams are important, so are the simple moments that happen along the way.
